Annabelle Loeb

Annabelle (Anosov) Loeb, a gracious fun-loving lady who had a zest for life passed away on Wednesday, April 15th.

Annabelle was born the youngest child of Nathan and Jennie Anosov on February 7, 1920, in Milwaukee, WI. She graduated from North Division High School and worked for many years in Milwaukee and Chicago before her marriage, in 1954, to Archie Loeb.

Her life was centered on her family. She was a loving wife, a fantastic mother, a wonderful grandmother, and a caring aunt. Annabelle always had a smile on her face and always made time for company. She was a great hostess and strived to make everyone feel special by remembering their favorite food or snacks; she did her best to remember birthdays and anniversaries with a card or a phone call.

Annabelle had an abiding belief in the importance of giving back to her community. For years she was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, Eastern Star, Saturday Club and Temple Menorah.

Annabelle loved to tell stories; she was good at it. She was a constant kidder who loved to laugh. Her humor and her gentleness made her much loved by her children’s friends as well as her family. She could make conversation with anyone. Annabelle’s warmth and big heart put people at ease, and made them confide in her. Annabelle freely offered her considerable wisdom about life and human nature to all; she was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed help.

Her smile and love will be greatly missed by her daughter, Jan (Marc Shovers) Madison; daughter-in-law Kellie Loeb; her five grandchildren: Patsy (Andrew Nadder), Morgan, and Seanna Loeb, Sam and Ben Shovers, numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Annabelle was preceded in death by her husband, Archie in 2015, her son Neal in 2018; her siblings Elizabeth, Sam, Louis, Morris, Norman. She was the last member of her immediate family.

May her memory forever be a blessing. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Polycystic Kidney Research Foundation 8330 Ward Parkway Kansas City, MO 64114.

I am so sorry to hear of Annabelle’s passing. She was an amazing woman. I enjoyed her stories, her humor, and her honesty. I had the great opportunity to be her massage therapist over the course of many years, and we really developed a true friendship. She will be always be close to my heart. I drove by her house and saw the dumpster and I knew what that meant. I’m so happy that I was invited and attended her 100th birthday, but wish I could have seen her a many more times after that! Love, Nancy
